Glazed Ham Recipe
(serves 8) |
Ingredients:
1.5 kg

For the
glaze:
1 tbsp
45 g/ 1/4 cup
1 tbsp
1 tsp
2 tbsp

ham joint
dry white wine or stock
whole cloves
clear honey
dark brown sugar
wholegrain mustard
grated fresh green ginger
orange juice
Black pepper

Method:

Preheat the oven
to 180 oC. Place the ham enclose with
a piece of foil in a large baking dish. Pour the
wine or stock over ham and then fold the foil
loosely and sealing the edges tightly. Bake the
ham for 1 hour.

While the ham is
baking, stir the honey, sugar, mustard, ginger
and orange juice together. Add a good grinding
of black pepper.

When ham is
cooked, remove and unwrap it. Slice the ham then
place it on a rack in the baking dish.

Stud the ham with
cloves and brush with the glaze. Return to oven
and bake for 15 minutes. Serve immediately, with
the vegetables , or leave until cold.
