Steamed Beef Balls with Water
Chestnuts Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup/ 250 ml
1 lb/ 450 g

1 tbsp/ 15 ml
3 tbsp/ 45 ml

uncooked rice
round steak, minced
green onions, finely chopped
finely chopped fresh ginger
water chestnuts, finely chopped
egg, lightly beaten
soy sauce
sherry
green vegetable leaves
soy sauce and chili pepper sauce, to serve.

Method:

Place rice in a
bowl, cover with water and soak for 1 - 1 1/2
hours. Drain well and spread out on a tray to
dry.

Combine steak,
green onions, ginger, water chestnuts, egg, soy
sauce and sherry; mix until well blended. Form
mixture into balls about 1 1/2 inches/ 4 cm in
diameter.

Roll each balls in
rice until completely covered. Place balls on
green vegetables in a steamer basket.

Place in a steamer
and stem for 30 minutes over gently boiling
water. Serve with soy and chili pepper for
dipping.
