All In One Cake Recipe
(makes: 1 x 20 cm round) |
Ingredients:
250 g
250 g/ 1 cup

250 g/ 2 cups
1 tsp

soft margarine
caster sugar
large egg
self-raising flour
baking powder
A few drops vanilla essence

Method:

Preheat the oven
to 180 oC. Grease a 20 cm round cake
tin and line the base of it with greaseproof
paper.

Put the margarine,
sugar and eggs in a mixing bowl, then sift in
the flour, baking powder and vanilla essence.
Beat the mixture lightly until it is thoroughly
blended but be careful not to over mix.

Spoon the mixture
into the tin and spread it level. Bake for 50-60
minutes or until the cake is golden and firm to
the touch in the centre.

Leave the cake to
cool in the tin for 3 minutes then turn it out
onto a wire rack and leaves to cool further;
peel away the greaseproof paper while the cake
is still slightly warm. It will keep for three
days in an airtight tin.
